Launch Date: December 9th!
We are very excited that we can finally announce the opening date- Friday, December 9th.
The building inspector came to Mozzeria last week to examine installation of chimney. He gave us the thumbs up. Wow, what a huge relief it was! The tremendous pressure on us suddenly dissipated! He said everything looks good and that we could, "technically", open tomorrow. He will have to return again for the final inspection this week.
More good news... the Alcohol Beverage Control (ABC) representative came by to check the restaurant space and the representative said everything looks good and that we would receive our license by the end of this month. Yay!
And yet one more piece of good news... Russ and I had been required to attend a Food Safety Manager course and take a mandatory exam. At that time I thought the class was scheduled the following day until we received an email from the interpreting agency informing us that the interpreters were waiting for us. My gosh, I got the dates mixed up and we were not prepared at all as we were going to study for the exam that evening.
The exam was tricky and we were worried that we wouldn't pass. I secretly that hoped one of us (actually Russ) would pass the exam. I was never good with the tests my whole life. Then two days ago we received a letter in the mail informing us that WE both passed the exam! Whooo! Wow, we both now actually have Food Safety Manager certification. (Pat on each other' shoulders). Note to myself: a word of advice, always study ahead of time. :)
This week, we are having final inspections from several different departments in the Department of Building Inspection and we are working hard to getting everything ready for December 9th!
