The launch of Mozzeria is getting real close. Training of all personnel has begun! Mozzeria is hosting the first of two fundraising dinners this week: the first Mozzeria Tasting Dinner tonight to benefit California School for the Deaf, Fremont and the Deafhood Foundation.

The second Mozzeria Tasting Dinner will be held on this Thursday evening to benefit Dianne Feinstein Elementary School. Both events will allow us to develop and fine-tune our routine, and help prepare for the Opening on Friday! At these events, we will offer a Tasting menu. The Full menu will go into effect starting this Friday.

We are excited about our Menu. The cuisine is Modern Italian. We will serve traditional and non-traditional pizzas. Traditional pizzas include Margherita. One of our non-traditional pizzas is Roast Duck on hoisin sauce with spring onion which is one of my favorite pizzas.

We will also offer pizzas for vegetarians. Some people had asked about gluten-free pizzas. We learned, however, that we cannot prepare gluten-free pizzas on the same cooking surface as gluten pizzas. For the present time we won’t be able to offer it, but we may consider adding gluten-free options in the future.

Justin Belluomini, our lead cook has created interesting Pasta dishes. We invite customers to taste different items from various regions in Italy. You have to try our butternut squash with carrot puree. Our lemon ricotta gnocchi sautéed in sage butter is very light and airy.

The gooey cheesy Mozzeria bar

I am big on sharing the dishes with my family and friends, so Mozzeria is offering Small Plates on the menu. Small plates allow you guys to try out and taste new items. Russ' Mozzeria bar is …. my gosh…. so, so, so delicious! What is it? You come to Mozzeria and find out.

Grilled Salmon with salsa verde and fried capers is also my favorite. Really, the small plates are all very good.

Of course, you MUST save room in your nearly full stomach for our mouthwatering Italian desserts. Let me describe one of our desserts… Cannoli with single origin ecuador, candied orange peel and ricotta crème... Doesn’t this sound delicious? Right, I know. :)

Does that make you hungry? Come to Mozzeria and I dare you to order all dishes from the menu. :)

My son and I were at Mozzeria last night for a fundraiser benefitting CSD and Deafhood Foundation. Everything was absolutely mouthwatering. The quality of the food is evident. The olive oil was one of the best I've tasted. Mozzeria bar was oozing deliciousness, and the Neapolitian and roasted eggplant pizzas were divine. The house wine was excellent. The chocolate cake....melted in my mouth. My tummy left the restaurant quite pleased. Need I say more? MOZZERIA is the place to be!!!
